Volunteer With Us

 

The foundation of our STAY UA Support Hub for older adults is a robust volunteer program that connects fellow community members with one another in supportive and rewarding ways.

 

Residents interested in becoming part of our volunteer program are asked to complete an application form and agree to a screening and training process before your application can be fully approved.

 

STAY UA volunteer opportunities include:

 

Social Support:

 

• Phone connections (check-in calls)
• Friendly visits
• Social gatherings

 

Home Exterior Assistance:

 

• Leaf raking
• Clearing branches after a storm
• Planting flowers and light gardening assistance
• Snow removal
• Hanging/removing holiday decorations

 

Home Interior Assistance*:

 

• Simple home maintenance – changing lightbulbs, smoke detector batteries, furnace filters, etc.
• Technology support – network connectivity, remote synching, tablets, smart phones & computers
• Help with paperwork (sorting mail, organizing files)
• Light moving assistance (boxes, storage)
• Pet care (short term assistance with walking, feeding, etc.)

 

Transportation Assistance*:

 

• Simple errands - by the volunteer for the member.

 

*Only volunteers who are 18 and over that have been vetted by STAY UA are allowed in a house.
